Schley Tools – Harmonic Damper Holding Tool, Compatible with GM, 64500

Our 64500 GM Harmonic Damper Holding Tool aids in the removal and installation of the harmonic damper bolt. The fastener holding the harmonic damper on is extremely tight making the removal and installation difficult. This harmonic damper holding tool has been developed to aid in the removal and installation of the crankshaft/harmonic damper bolt on the 4.2 L, 3.5 L and 2.8 L in line GM engines. These damper pulleys need a special tool to hold the pulley stationary for the center bolt to be removed. The bolt is extremely tight and without the #64500, removal is very difficult at best. The center bolt after installation of the pulley, factory specifications require 110 lbs.-ft. of torque and 180 degrees of rotation to seat the pulley properly. This tool allows the factory torque to be attained.
